To put it in the most basic of terms it is a Personal Development Plan for success and happiness.

Success and happiness for the most part goes hand in hand, however they are both unique to each and everyone of us.

The only one who can define what success is for you would be “You!” The same can be said for happiness as they are both a very individual thing.

This is a personal development plan for life and that means that you must all be focused on the improvement of your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Make everyday count as your forward movement will not result in exhaustion so much as it will inspiration!

Every Day Do Something That Will Inch You Closer To A Better Tomorrow.

The first plan of action is for you to figure out exactly what it is that would make you feel successful and happy.

This sounds like such a basic step but if you overlook this first step there would be no reason to continue reading this article.

I hate to use such a cliche’ but; “If you don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you get there?”

Success and happiness are both a destination and a journey. You will need a road-map to reach the destination and then you will need the tools to continue the journey.

The Journey Is The Reward

You must have a clear and vivid picture of what success and happiness would be for you. Give this some thought and be very specific and honest with yourself.

Take this serious and try to be realistic and by that I mean don’t choose winning the lottery as your meaning of success.

I may be the one writing this article but it is your Personal Development Plan and you have to treat it just as it is; a “Plan.”

I will give you the advice and the tools that you will need but you will have to put it all into context as it suits you and your life.

All to often people will exert more energy into complaining about their situation or circumstance then they will to try to improve it.

Although that is not you, I know that you want to take the positive steps to better your life. I also know that you possess the personal strength to follow through and do what it takes to improve your life.

If you follow this personal development plan you will never again give in to challenges or difficulties.

Challenges Are What Make Life Interesting; Overcoming Them Is What Makes Life Meaningful.

I talked about the importance of awakening your self-awareness, that is one issue, I would now ask that you take the next few questions into consideration and see if you can create a list of thoughts and ideas that might help to answer them.

What it is that is holding you back in life?

Why do you think that you haven’t been able to maximize your full potential into reaching your heights of happiness and success?

Do you have a clear vision of what happiness and success means to you?

You must be an active participant in this Personal Development Plan if you want to see some real self-improvement.

You should be reading this article with a notepad and a pen so you can answer these questions and make note of anything that comes to mind.

Seriously, you should be writing down all your thoughts and feelings as you read through this, even if you think that something is not relevant write it down because it may make sense to you in a day or two or next week or next month.

Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny.

Fear can come in the form of past griefs, failures and embarrassments. If you are not careful these can shut you down and imprison you with your own self-defeating thoughts and feelings.

As part of your Personal Development Plan you should try to write down everything you can think of, past or present that leaves you with any one of those feelings.

Make a list of everything you ever tried but did not succeed at. Try to think of anything that brings up any unsettling feelings and write them down.

Don’t brush this off, take it seriously, you may not see how this can be of any benefit right now, but just trust me this will all come together in the end.

Actually that is a bad choice of words because in essence there really is no end.

This is a Personal Development Plan for life and the notes you are taking right now will be added to over time.

I’ve always said that personal development is not a destination, it is a journey, a life-long journey.

The sad fact, is that most people allow their inner fears, embarrassments and self-defeating thoughts and feelings to bring their Personal Development Plan to a dead halt.

They allow these inner weaknesses to grow even stronger by refusing to face them head-on.

When you bottle these feelings up and try to bury them as though they never existed all you are really doing is giving more strength to them.

In most cases fear, failure and embarrassment is only in the mind of the beholder.

Everything happens for a reason and there will always be times when you meant for one thing to happen but something totally different comes of the situation or circumstance.

It’s in these times that you have to have the resolve to accept that things don’t always turn out as expected.

Rather than locking yourself in your own cage of fears and wallowing in sorrow over past griefs, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your instructors and they will become your building blocks for both your Personal Development Plan and success.

We all have a tendency to be harder on and expect more out of ourselves than we do of others.

You should have your Personal Development Plan notebook right in front of you so go ahead and write down exactly what you are saying to yourself right now.

You should get into the habit of stopping to think about what you are thinking about.

At different times throughout your day try to catch yourself thinking and keep a small notepad with you so you can take note of your thoughts/inner dialogue.

The benefits of nurturing a positive attitude are limitless so whatever effort you put into developing a positive mindset is going to pay-off for the rest of your life.

A positive mental attitude is one that expects the most favorable outcome of every situation or circumstance.
