The Power of Positive Thinking is an Immense Force That We All Possess, I Intend To Show You How I Put This Power To Use In My Life And By The End Hopefully You Will See How You Can Use It Within Your Own. This is My Story!

The Power of Positive Thinking

Hello, my name is Howard G. Platt 111 and I would like to take you on a short journey, the journey of my life, like so many other lives one filled with many joys, many sorrows, many struggles and many triumphs. I share my story with you for no other reason than to help inspire those that may feel like there is no escape from the pains that can affect our lives in so many ways.

Power of Positive ThinkingI am no more different than any other person in this world and I hope that once you read my story you will see the true power of the human mind and the strength that can be gained purely through your dominant thoughts. I intend to show you how amazing the Power of Positive Thinking really is and all the ways that it can help you to overcome the difficult times in your own life.

I was born into a family that was broken from the start but that does not mean that I was not surrounded with love. One thing I have learned throughout life is that a person that does not value their life will lack the strength and perseverance to claim their right to happiness, love and success.

I had two parents that were loving, caring individuals yet one had incredible strength while the other had none, one valued their life yet the other did not. As I look back upon my life I can see that my Mother persevered through the power of positive thinking, even though she may not have realized it at the time I can see that it was her faith, her belief and her determination that held our broken family together to the best of her ability.

My Mother held our family together but my father was weak, he did not value his life, he did not utilize his own personal power and he chose not to fight his demons and for that reason and that reason alone he was not a part of our family. However I also intend to show you how the power of positive thinking can help to overcome challenges that appear to be completely lost causes.

My Father was an alcoholic, not your average alcoholic he was as severe an alcoholic as I have ever known throughout my entire life. I could not give you a number for the times that he broke my heart and the hearts of my siblings.

However hard I tried not to let him define my childhood it was a battle I could not win. I carried around this mass of pain inside me which manifested into anger and before I learned of the power of positive thinking I allowed that anger to dictate my life in many ways.

I came across this video and I thought it is was so beautiful I just had to share it with you, my readers. I’m not sure if it really fits right here but then again that would depend upon the meaning you personally take away from it’s message. For me it touched my heart and I could truly relate it to certain situations I have faced in my life.

I also feel that the video does back the principles and truth of the power of positive thinking and I hope that it touches your heart as it did mine when I first listened to its message.

Hey Howard,
I’m in kind of the same dilemma although different as my family is estranged I like your father have a problem with alcohol and tend to self destruct when something goes wrong which by being negetive from the beginning have become the end result. I have tried and tried made promises to my friend and have let her down a few weeks in to what I committ to I don’t have access to CDs and would really like to read something that could help me stay on the right track and get rid of the sense of worthlessness and being a constant let down for failing over and over again. I’m prepared to give positive thinking a serious go as I have been negetive for most of my life and your right no one wants people around that are and it’s tough to accomplish anything let alone stay on track with anything when negetive thoughts and mentally defeating yourself before you have ever really put fourth what’s required. If you could forward me some reading material information It would be greatly appreciated

Dear Rajesh,

I would like to help you and I think that I can help you to help yourself but I would be doing you an injustice if I tried to rush through with a reply today. Once again I was just released from the hospital this morning and I am not feeling well and my mind is not clear but I did want to respond to let you know that I would like to help as soon as I am feeling better.

For now you should sit down with your wife and pour your heart out to her, hold nothing back, let her know how much you love her and value your family. Tell her that you know your actions for all those years have not shown it but promise her that you will do everything in your power to turn things around. Throw your pride out the window and show your true feelings but whatever you do be truthful!

It sounds as though you have let her down for a long time so you cannot expect things to change overnight and you cannot expect her full trust right away as you will have to earn that back overtime. Love can heal all but you must realize that love without action, love without sincerity, love without commitment and love without truth is not really love at all.

If you have love in your heart show her through your actions. A real man can set his pride to the side and do what it takes, whatever it takes to keep your family together.

I know you can do this but you have to know that you can do it for it to work. You cannot give 5% you must give 105% you are talking about your family and your life so you have to do whatever it takes to repair the damage. It is up to you to take control of YOU and you can do that, you can absolutely do that immediately.

However, before you do anything, before you take any action you must take a moment to ask yourself if what you are about to do or say is in the best interest for your family. is it going to help repair the problem or add to it. The answer to that question must be clear in your heart and your mind.

It sounds as though you don’t believe in yourself and if you don’t believe in you no one else is going to believe in you. I would suggest you take some time to read through some articles on this site to help build your self-confidence and self-esteem. You should always be working on yourself to become the person that you KNOW you can be. Most of all do not be selfish, think of your wife’s feelings before your own and you don’t do this for a day or a week you make it a life habit.

There is one thing I would recommend that could help you to see yourself for who you really are and it can help you to stay the course. I would suggest that you start to keep a DAILY Journal and record everything you do throughout the day and then review your journal every night to see if you can find certain things that you could have done better or to see what things you did not do but should have.

DON’T be selfish think of your wife and your family above anything else including your own wants and needs. It sounds as though you have a ditch to dig yourself out of so you need to keep shoveling as hard as you can and keep the faith that you can turn this around and repair your family, adding the love back to your marriage. You can do it my friend, I know you can but it is up to you to know that you can.

I Wish You All The Best!
Sincerely,
Howard – Now I must rest!

Hi Howard,

I think need to get advice from you since I am also going through a rough patch with my wife and she does not want to stay with me since I have not shared any family responsibility in the 12 years of our married family and badly want some good advice from you.

Since for the past 2 to 3 weeks have been hell for me and I am trying very hard to change myself which I think have done only 5% which as per is also very good considering the current condition of her.

I await your reply.

Thanks,

Rajesh Iyengar
